We provide comprehensive, class based theory sessions covering mandatory modules in healthcare and basic practical demonstration, followed by practical placement within reputable care home settings. We cover care certificate topics during our comprehensive healthcare training.

We encourage our staff to undertake career defining training such as access to nursing, health and social care diplomas and degree level courses.

PROCESS OF BECOMING A STAFF OF GASTIC OLLARD HEALTHCARE Ltd.
Our staff are put through a robust vetting process to get them job ready and provide them to support service users in various healthcare institutions.Prospective staff are categorised according to their relevant qualifications and experience and they will provide relevant verifiable documents to back their qualifications.
They will participate in a through interview process that will assist us with identifying their skills and place them correctly.
Our prospective nursing assistants will sit a short test that will show their level of understanding of their expected roles and responsibilities and inform us whether they need more training before they can be registered. This will be followed by an interview/feedback session that will inform the prospective candidates about the next stage in their registration process.

Ø Proof of right to work in UK which can include
· Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Driving license for British Citizens.
· For Non-European Citizen, you must be able to present evidence of entitlement to work as described by UK Borders & Immigration Agency.
· 2 Passport sized photograph for your name badge and application form.
Ø Proof of address
· bank statement, utility bill or council tax statement which (must not be more than 3 months old)
Ø Proof of National Insurance Number
Ø Current DBS with update service. If no current DBS, Gastic Ollard Healthcare Limited will assist you with applying for one once you make payment and you are advised to put it on update service so you will not have to renew your DBS yearly.

Mandatory Training Certificates
Our prospective healthcare assistant staff are required to either have certification for the following mandatory training and other continuous developmental training or the training are delivered by our education arm so that staff will be competent and ready to support service users satisfactorily.
Ø Introduction to Healthcare practice including Types of Patients’ Needs.
Ø Materials and Equipment used in Healthcare establishment.
Ø Nursing assistant and Patients care (Roles and Responsibilities).
Ø Infection Control Awareness and Food Hygiene.
Ø Medication Awareness including Management of Controlled Drugs.
Ø Effective Communication.
Ø Consent, Confidentiality and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults from Abuse.
Ø Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
Ø Supporting People with Dementia, Learning Disabilities and Epilepsy.
Ø Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Ø Principles of Moving and Handling.
Ø Health and Safety at Work.
Ø Basic Life Support including Management of choking.
Ø Basic practical using various equipment like Hoist, Wheelchair, Zimmer frame.
Medical History
Blood Test Results confirming immunity to the following:

Staff who wish to work in Exposure Prone units must also provide
Ø Hepatitis C
Ø HIV
For your test results to be accepted, they must be stamped and verified by your GP surgery, Occupational Health Department or verifiable travel clinic.

DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE (DBS)
As a prospective healthcare worker, it is mandatory for you to have up to date disclosure and Barring service (DBS) check, Gastic Ollard Healthcare Limited (GOHL) works with umbrella bodies to assist you with applying for and obtaining your enhanced DBS check. You are then advised to register this with the update service so that your DBS can be used when applying to other companies.
You will only have to pay a fee for the update service online yearly to ensure that your DBS is current.

APPLICATION FORM
Ø Candidates will need to complete a Gastic Ollard Healthcare Application Form which can be downloaded from the website or provided for you physically.
Ø Candidates will also be required to attend a face-to-face interview with our designated Senior Management staff or Nurse.
We will need a link for the forms, application, DBS etc.
Once you have completed your application form and we have all your documents including references, you will be invited to attend our induction program when we will discuss your expected roles and responsibilities, your terms of engagement/contract, the on call process and how to access support, your payroll and when to submit timesheet, professional boundaries and presentation including wearing neat uniform and having your ID badge displayed.
You will also be reminded that we carry out spot checks, regular appraisals and review to ensure that we are providing excellent service to all our clients.
